Neo Geo X Gold Handheld Launch Details

Neo Geo X

As previously reported all the way back in January, the Neo Geo is being revived in handheld form by manufacturer Tommo, Inc., in partnership with SNK Playmore.

New details have emerged regarding the new handheld, which is being touted as a “system within a system.” The rumored specs that were previously posted are indeed legitimate. And the handheld includes an arcade joystick and a docking station, which doubles as a video out station (with A/V and HDMI out options).

In case you missed the previously-revealed specs, the handheld features:
* 4.3 inch LCD screen
* Four face buttons, Start/Select buttons, four shoulder buttons, and an analog stick
* Built-in battery, an AV outport, 2 GB of internal memory, and a game card slot

The device will include 20 built-in games. The leaked list was slightly inaccurate; here are the games listed in the official press release:

3 Count Bout
Alpha Mission II
Art of Fighting II
Baseball Stars II
Cyber Lip
Fatal Fury
Fatal Fury Special
The King of Fighters ’95
King of the Monsters
Last Resort

The Neo Geo X Gold releases worldwide on December 6th, 2012, with an MSRP of $199.99.
