In 2002, Microsoft purchased all shares of developer Rare, who prior to the buyout had a strong partnership with Nintendo. And with that, Rare became a first-party developer for Microsoft’s consoles.
When the Xbox 360 launched in 2005, Rare had two titles ready: Perfect Dark Zero, a prequel to Perfect Dark on the N64, and a new IP titled Kameo: Elements of Power. This adventure title showed of the graphical and processing power of the Xbox 360, featuring beautiful and detailed environments and dozens and dozens of enemies on-screen at once.
When I got the Xbox 360, one of the first games I wanted to get was Kameo. The game has a very cool shape-shifting feature, in which Kameo can transform into several different creatures, each with unique abilities and personalities. These abilities are used to combat enemies and solve puzzles.
This playthrough was a “blind” first-time run, so you get to see and hear my reactions to the game. The first video of the playthrough is below:
And the playlist for the Kameo playthrough is here. Enjoy!
