Donkey Kong Country for the SNES was a massive success for Rare and Nintendo. So it was no surprise that a sequel was in the works. And that game eventually launched as Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest. With the capture of Donkey Kong by Kaptain K. Rool and his Kremling Krew, Diddy Kong took the starring role here. This time, he’s partnered up with his girlfriend Dixie Kong, and the duo sets off onto an adventure to rescue DK.
Donkey Kong Country 2 is a bigger and more difficult game than its predecessor. Several new elements, such as team-up moves, more animal buddies, and different level types, were introduced here. The game’s soundtrack, composed by David Wise, is also extremely memorable.
Donkey Kong Country 2 is one the best games of its era, and hopefully you’ll enjoy my playthrough of it!
