Playthrough: Kirby’s Dream Collection – New Challenge Stages
Developer(s): HAL Laboratory and Nintendo
Release Date: July 19, 2012 (Japan), September 16, 2012 (North America)
Along with 7 classic games from the pink puffball’s rich history, Kirby’s Dream Collection also includes New Challenge Stages. Being able to revisit classic games from the Kirby franchise is nice and all, but honestly, the New Challenge Stages are the main reason I picked up the collection.
The challenge stages made their debut in Kirby’s Return to Dream Land as extra mini games that could be accessed after you collected enough Energy Spheres in the regular stages. In these extra challenges, your objective was to reach the end of the course while collecting coins, defeating enemies, and getting the best time.
In Kirby’s Dream Collection, the Copy Challenges are set up to be their own game, with you unlocking more challenges after you complete the Sword Challenge, which is the only one available from the start. You can view that challenge along with the intro below.
You can view the rest of the challenges as they go live on my channel here.
