Resident Evil HD Remaster Announced for Current and Next-Gen Platforms
Capcom announced that an HD remaster of the Resident Evil remake, originally released in 2002 as a GameCube exclusive, is heading to multiple current and next-gen platforms via digital release.
The GameCube “REmake” was rebuilt from the ground-up and included a massive overhaul in the graphics and sound departments, with additional content added to the game as well. The new version features HD graphics, the ability to switch from 4:3 to 16:9 display ratios, the ability to change from the original’s “tank” controls to more modern controls, and a new “scrolling” camera.
Oddly enough, a Wii U version has not been announced. It’s a bit surprising considering the “REmake” was on the GameCube, and the Wii U did receive a release of Resident Evil: Revelations last year too.
In any case, the Resident Evil HD remaster launches sometime in 2015. Check back for more news as its available!
