Dead or Alive 5: Last Round Launch
The final iteration of Dead or Alive 5 is now out on various platforms. Titled Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, this version expands upon the previous updates that were present in Dead or Alive 5 Plus and Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, as well as a few other additions such as tweaked gameplay mechanics, new characters, costumes, etc.
Dead or Alive 5: Last Round is available in disc and digital formats for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One only, and will also include some DLC as unlockable content. This version of the game will also make use of a more powerful engine and higher resolution, to take advantage of the consoles power. One thing to note for German, French, Italian, and Spain users is that there’s a game breaking glitch that corrupts save data if Tutorial Mode Lessons 40.8 and 40.9 are played. Koei Tecmo are currently at work to create a patch for this issue.
The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions are available through download only (although Japan will receive a retail release of the former). For those of you that own Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate, you can upgrade your game free of charge to Last Round via the latest update, although you’ll still need to purchase the DLC characters that have been released (Marie Rose, Phase 4, Nyotengu, Raidou, Honoka). A Core Fighters version is also available for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Xbox One users have access to a Trial version of Core Fighters, and have the option of upgrading to the full version of Core Fighters for a small fee. Doing this grants more characters for players to use (Hitomi, Tina, Jann Lee, and Bass Armstrong).
There will be plenty of updates and new content to come for this supposed final version of Dead or Alive 5. PC users will also be able to join in on the fun at the end of next month, with Dead or Alive 5: Last Round hitting Steam on March 30; a first for the series (Unless you want to include Dead or Alive Online). Are any of you planning on trying out one of the many versions of Dead or Alive 5: Last Round that Tecmo Koei has to offer? Leave your thoughts below!
